Service Engineer – Harlow

We’re now looking for a Service Engineer, based in Harlow to join our Engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis.


Your Role :

As a Service Engineer, you will provide maintenance, repairs, field mods and delivery support services at a defined quality level in the most efficient way to customers within the South of the country and UK wide to support the wider team as required.

Working with Area Supervisors and Directors to provide key support, you will deliver a timely and appropriate service to installed base customers and potential new customers. Ensuring any technical service work is carried out to manufacturer specifications and recommendations, you will administer and maintain a stock of spare parts.

You will implement product modifications, upgrades and field corrections, audit the progress of service teams and assist in the delivery of training. Following up on customers’ needs or complaints, you will co-ordinate work and carry out specific projects as required.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing technical projects, installations and repairs
  • Training and supervising junior field service staff
  • Providing advanced technical support to newly-launched products
  • Ensuring compliance with quality processes, both internal and external
  • Investigating and reporting quality issues along with product incidents, providing technical reports as required
  • Completing and recording electrical safety testing on products during tasks

Experience Needed :

To be considered as a Service Engineer, you will need:

  • Engineering experience gained in the mechanical or electrical field
  • A certification to work in public places and the health field
  • Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • IT skills (MS Office)
  • City and Guilds 2377 Electrical Safety Testing (desirable)
  • A full, valid UK driving licence

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will need to pass a DBS check prior to commencing their role.

Please note, there will be a requirement to travel nationally as needed by business demands.

Standard working hours are 37.5 per week.
