Assembly Operative (temp contract)

We are a manufacturer of specialist hospital beds and manage over 25% of the UK’s acute bed and mattress fleet, working with more than 150 hospitals across the UK and Ireland.

Established in 2010, Medstrom has grown substantially by being patient-focused to become the organisation we are today, whilst maintaining an open culture and ethos. In 2022, Medstrom became an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), unlike any other company in the industry. This allows each employee to have a vested interest in the company, where we can all contribute to and share in the company’s success.

We’re now looking for an Assembly Operative to join our manufacturing team in Castle Donington on a full-time, temporary basis for 6 months (potential to lead to permanent).

– Assemble Medstrom products in line with manufacturing schedules and customer requirements
– Undertake maintenance and general housekeeping of allocated production areas
– Communicate with team members and the Production Team Leader to ensure manufacturing schedules are achieved
– Monitor allocated inventory of raw materials and components for manufacture
– Take good care of allocated company tools
– Ensure any manufacturing issues are escalated as necessary

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm (37.5 hours per week)

Experience Needed:

To join us as an Assembly Operative, you will need:

– Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage, as would experience of using hand tools
– The ability to adhere to strict production deadlines
– The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude
– Accuracy and attention to detail
– The ability to provide clear and concise communication, either verbally or in writing
– To be a good team player

In addition to the salary and related benefits, you will join a company that has grown extensively within the last 5 years and through our unique ownership model is continuing to grow, whilst offering great career opportunities for those that are keen to progress.

Medstrom are an equal opportunities employer, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.
