Medstrom Welcomes First Customers to See Their Beds Being Built

Medstrom recently hosted representatives from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its UK-based manufacturing facility following the award and announcement of their new Total Bed Management (TBM) partnership.

The TBM service encompasses the supply and maintenance of beds, mattresses and associated patient equipment, including the implementation of over 1200 state-of-the-art, electric profiling hospital beds. These are designed to protect patients who are at risk of falls, whilst supporting caregivers with optimised functionality and a superior high height.

During the COVID-safe visit, the OUH representatives from Clinical Engineering and Tissue Viability were provided with a tour of the manufacturing facility, allowing them to see their own beds being built. Accompanied by Medstrom’s Capital Operations Director, Matthew Stonton, the visitors were given a deeper insight into the manufacturing and quality control process, helping to reinforce Medstrom’s collaborative approach.

Medstrom began manufacturing in the East Midlands in early 2019, in response to the uncertainties surrounding Brexit. This included sourcing many components locally to better manage supply chain and meet highly responsive delivery times.

“We are really proud to be able to welcome visitors to our manufacturing facility,” said Matthew Stonton. “Transparency and trust are fundamental to our working relationships with customers, and this extends to all of our processes on the factory floor. We are able to share real-time data of operating efficiency and checks on each bed that rolls off the assembly line, which demonstrates our commitment to quality.
