Service Engineer, Midlands

Department: Training and Technical Projects
Location: Based in Midlands but providing national coverage

Role Description:
To ensure delivery of service (maintenance, repairs, field mods, delivery support) at defined quality level in the most efficient way across the UK. Working closely with Supervisors and Directors to provide key support.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

– Deliver a timely and appropriate service to installed base customers and to potential new customers
– Administer and maintain stock of spare parts
– Ensure planned implementation of product modifications, upgrades and field corrections.
– Audit progress of service teams to ensure national project objectives are met
– Assist and deliver training policies, procedures and processes to field service teams
– To follow up customers’ needs or concerns to Area Supervisors and Account Managers
– Coordinate national and local modifications, field upgrades and retrofits
– Carry out specific projects as required ensuring timely completion
– Project manage national technical projects, installations and repairs and provide progress updates
– Participate in equipment audit follow-ups
– Provide technical support to newly-launched products, along with medical devices currently on trial
– Ensure compliance with quality processes, both internal and external
– Investigate and report quality issues along with product incidents providing technical reports as required
– Complete & record electrical safety testing on products during tasks
– Assist in products deliveries: demonstration and basic training to users
– Order spare parts, single-use goods and management of samples
– Complete daily/ weekly activity reports
– To update relevant IT systems and complete administrative work in a timely manner

Qualifications Required:
– Experience as a licensed Engineer in a mechanics or electrical field would be an advantage
– Extensive knowledge of Medstrom & OEM products
– Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
– City and Guilds 2377 Electrical Safety Testing
– Command of Quality Manual
– Basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and norms
– Basic PC skills and working knowledge of MS Office packages is essential
– Applicants must be DBS checked
– Availability for on-call rotations 24 hours x 7 days
– Full driving licence and the ability to drive large commercial vehicles is essential
– Excellent customer service skills
