Clinical Advisor (Maternity Cover, Full or Part Time)

Key Areas of Responsibility:

To provide clinical support, training and advice, to both customer and business ensuring the correct products are installed on an individual patient need basis

Day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
– To work with Trust Tissue Viability and Manual Handling staff in the provision of training and development of staff across our existing customer sites or new customer sites
– Ensure the appropriate use of equipment and encourage reassessment of patients in order to assist the Trusts in ensuring the most efficient usage of specialist equipment
– Support the delivery of Medstrom services within the contracted accounts
– Identify and develop new products that benefit patient outcomes within your hospital(s)
– Promote and support new technologies – encouraging use
– Report back to the key account management team any issues / challenges or opportunities
– Work with customer to implement i-Tracker
– Monitor length of stay on specialist equipment and carry out a check every 10 days
– Provide on-going bedside training and advice at ward level to ensure appropriate equipment usage in line with the Trust protocols and then provide follow-up visits
– To provide advice and information to patients and carers on contracted products
– Follow up on all key specialist products within 24 hours of installation (eg Dolphin, Bari10A,) and encourage reassessment of patients in order to assist the Trust in ensuring the most efficient usage of specialist equipment.
– To effectively monitor the usage of pressure relieving products on behalf of the contracted Trusts
– Offer product and / or wound care training workshops
– In agreement with the Tissue Viability team, plan pressure ulcer prevalence surveys as required.
– Work with the Trust to help monitor and drive CQUIN targets and the elimination of avoidable pressure ulcers
– Become a Medstrom trusted advisor
– To actively participate in the tissue viability and manual handling training and education programmes and the Trusts mandatory training sessions for trained and untrained staff using a variety of training aids and product selection tools
– Promote SSKIN bundles (or other local initiatives) in line with the Trusts education process.
– Work with Key Trust personnel and implement any local training tools into the wider training delivered.

Qualifications and experience Requirements:
– Current RGN/ RMN qualification
– Experience of working on wards and within an NHS environment
– Experience of providing Clinical training at various levels
– Commercial experience would be advantageous

Personal Requirements:
– Ability to communicate at all levels
– An organised and methodical individual capable of organising workload effectively and working with minimum supervision
– Driving licence required
– Flexible outlook to duties and responsibilities

Hours of Work: Up to 37.5 hours per week
